Look! Affordable Plates from Little Tokyo

atla040708DSC_0025.jpgHere's a little secret for you local Angelenos: forgo all those big box stores for your plates and dishes. Head to Little Tokyo instead, where you can find beautiful dining items at prices that put discount stores to shame. Those two 8" square robin's egg blue and sea foam green plates were just $1.98 each at Marukai Market in Weller Court (we were there this weekend for the Cherry Blossom Festival), not to mention the other wonderfully strange items once can find walking down the store's aisles.

Murakai is awesome! It's the Japanese 99 cent store - but with much cooler stuff. I get a lot of my various plastic bins and containers there.

There are several in the South Bay area as well (Torrance, Gardena).

meatavious, we actually got this at the regular Marukai supermarket. Their 98 cent stores are fun, too, though. :)
