Look! Best of 2009 Home Products from MetaEfficient (Already?)

030309best2009metaeffic.jpgLooks like the folks over at MetaEfficient are getting a jump on everyone else and already compiling a 2009 Best Of list of everyday household products. So far they've included items like best water filters (from pitchers to complex under the sink, reverse osmosis setups), LED desk lamps, toasters, flashlights, rechargeable batteries and more...

030309bestoffrommetaeffic.jpgThe one review we're especially interested in reading about was MetaEfficient's take on the best shower filter of 2009. MetaEfficient writer Justin recommends combination filters that use both Vitamin C filters and chlorgon or ceramic filters for the best performance of removing chlorine and chloramines in both cold and hot water conditions, specifically the Vitamin C Shower filter. It sort of looks like a soft drink beverage that adds onto your shower head, and at a modest $39.95 (plus $5.00 for shipping and handling) not a horrible thing to give a try if you're looking to remove contaminants in your shower water.

Other notable review and roundups we found useful (because to be honest, there's just way too much out there for us to review ourselves and we're curious shoppers ourselves):

Ten bucks says they picked that toaster for aesthetics alone. Granted, it *is* pleasingly spacey ... though on second glance, unpleasantly reminiscent of an office trash can. But in the many, many reviews I've read, DeLonghi products consistently get an A for design, and a C- (at best) for performance and durability. I'll stick with my retro-looking Cuisinart.
