Look! Book storage behind a door
The "Sticklebook" via Marie Claire Maison Feb/March 2008

040408books.jpgIn a small space, every surface counts. We spotted this interesting solution for paperback book storage in the February/March 2008 issue of Marie Claire Maison. They actually had a whole section devoted to using the unused surface on doors. Find out how these books are magically floating, as well as a few more pics after the jump...

The books are actually held up using the "Sticklebook"! The Sticklebook's "innovative design comprises an aluminium extrusion which acts as a bracket and polypropylene combed strip that grips the cover and pages of paperback books. The shelf is screwed onto the wall which itself helps support the weight of the book and is an integral part of the design. It is totally secure and fall-proof."

It's about $28 for one, and they ship to the US. Click here to check out more info and details.

Off I went to Marie Claire, never find the particular section from this post.

But I did find this humdinger of a section: Petite Espaces. Wow, I just spent a couple hours browsing these photos of small spaces. Wow.

Some really beautiful *and* useful spaces there. Very individual, eclectic, but with a confident, grown-up feeling.

I don't like it. I think it looks junky.

Uh... in those pics I see the space on the walls right next to the doors is empty. So when "every inch counts", some people don't see the obvious choice apparently.
