Gregory featured Carrie's wall mural on AT a few weeks ago and yesterday, we checked back with her blog to see what she's up to. We love her DIY feather lamp she made for a gift. Find out how she made this unique pop of color after the jump.

We really love the as-is version during the day but at night, the light really shines. Because Carrie uses tissue paper, the effect is a soft glow (and the underneath color of the lamp is able to shine through). She mentioned that she had been inspired by other lights on the web and set out to make one herself. By taking a Japanese paper lamp as the starting point (and plenty of cut out leaves from craft tissue paper) she applied the bits in a feather pattern.

Odd, I love this via daytime but the night shot does not do it for me at all.

No, no....I like it. I'm not into the purple with the green, but it's a very interesting item. I would do this with yellow "feathers" and orange lines.

This has a lot of potential. I like the unlit version, but I think there would be ways to make the lit version look great too... Hmmm.
