apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Look! Claska Hotel's Place for Everything Rooms

Flickr user Liao Yusheng calls the Toyko hotel, Claska, his favourite place to stay in all the world (and from his Flickr set, it's obvious he's stayed at some nice places throughout). We can see why he's smitten with the Claska. The whimsical interior design inside their "Weekly residence" rooms (rooms 601-603) are both utilitarian and memorably unique, with a wall-length built-in storage unit that offers guests a place to keep their clothes, keep a hair dryer, turn on a silhouette "lamp", fold out a desk and even bring out a robotic canine companion from a dog house opening to keep them company when the mood strikes. Fun idea. Check out more below...

Besides the Weekly residence rooms, the Claska offers other design-centric accommodations, such as their Japanese Modern rooms or the Tatami theme rooms designed by Kaname Okajima. And the most surprising thing is these rooms are available for a reasonable ¥7500/US$66.18 per night (though you need to book one week minimum, and add 10% service charge with 5% tax, bringing a 7 days stay to ¥60637/US$535.05).

Liao notes: "It's damn near impossible to book as there are only 3 rooms. Actually, even their regular daily rooms are damn near impossible to book as there are 12 rooms, total, for the entire hotel (including the 3 weekly rooms). I literally based this trip around the dates this room is available. Book early if you want to stay [at the Claska]."

Good call 'farmhousemoderne'. I wonder if that was his inspiration?

whoa. i find it really overwhelming - like a visual manifestation of OCD or the setting for a sci-fi/big brother horror film.

positively, though, i do like the fold out desk, and the hair dryer slot is creative.

Wow - that is amazing! I might actually put things away if I had cute little slots for everything... it would make getting more stuff harder, as well (not a bad thing, really).
