We spotted this fun DIY project in the latest
Readymade Magazine. Bulletin boards are always such a visual commitment, usually dominating a whole area as one big piece. We love this idea of breaking it up and placing corkboard inside old frames, allowing you to organize your clippings, and still have it be able to grow (as clippings and memos inevitably do) and not have it look like one big heavy mass. We should also note that the October
Readymade has a little feature on one of our ATLA editors,
Gregory, and his great home that was first seen in our last
Smallest Coolest contest. (Congrats Gregory!)
anyone know where I can get good corkboard in nyc?
Jessica
I bought some cork squares (6"x6") and glued them onto card and then covered the whole lot with fabric, before putting it into an old frame.
I got the squares from Garber Hardware (in the Village), but I'm pretty sure all hardware stores would have something.
