It's rare that we have the occasion to thumb through photographs because they're already stored on our computer. We spotted this idea of Dawn's photo display and storage idea while simultaneously receiving a notice from Kodak Gallery (spend $15 at the store or all our photos will be deleted--yikes!). Needless to say, we're brainstorming which pictures to order and how we'll display them in our home. Read how Dawn utilizes her green hallway cubby after the jump!
Dawn tells us that initially, the green cubby was used to store paper but now it serves as both a display and functional piece for photo storage. It's placed rather strategically (located on the way to the bathroom) where family and friends can stop to look at photos and artwork by going through each cubby. Because Dawn hated the idea of keeping photos stored in albums and boxes, this design works great for her. In the past, we've always framed photos or put them in albums but would like to think outside of the box (no pun intended). We love Dawn's cubby idea but were wondering--what other ways do our AT readers display (and store) photos?

Switch to Flickr, they aren't jerks.
I have some photos hung up in a mobile that my sister bought me. It's just wire and alligator clips so I imagine it would be an easy DIY. For the most part, though, my photos get shared and perused by friends online.

I guess I'm old school, I still use photo albums which are becoming harder and harder to find these days.

I highly recommennd PBase for online photo storage - because they're terrific people running the business and host a wonderful community (should one choose to participate) - but mostly because the photos one uploads remain one's own. At PBase, there's none of the "Creative Commons" license inherent at Flickr or Picasa.
Also, I like the easy access Dawn has provided to photos, but I'd be afraid they'd get dusty. Albums are the way to go, still, for printed photos beyond what I've enlarged, framed and change out on a regular basis.

I use snapfish for my digital photos. I think that this is a great display, but I agree on them getting dusty and possibly being ruined because of the exposure to light. They actually use this same kind of display at modeling agency for easier access.

I would love to do that cube idea BUT with the photos being in those cheap (.99) photo flip books from dollar tree. You can only fit around 24 photos in there but there wonderful. Also a great idea for mom's who need a nice quiet kid activity (they LOVE looking through photos)
