If this residence entered our Falls Colors Contest, we'd guess that it would do pretty well! This home, decorated by m. design interiors, is all retro modern chic that uses bold colors in wide diagonal stripes as a backdrop for a mix of eclectic furniture and vintage patterns.

I don't think I'll ever be ready to step back into the 70's SuperGraphics trend.

If this were a reader's house and not something done by a designer I wouldn't say this, but...I don't think I have ever seen a home I liked less. The diagonal stripes are just the beginning. Just a lot of odd choices throughout the home.

Yech. It looks like the set from Welcome Back Kotter.

Um.. what parts of 'we' guess that anyone wants to relive the horror of these hideous throwback graphic stripes? What have 'we' been smoking?

if i had the right place, i could definitely see myself doing this. one of my favorite books when i was young was "the house book" a giant interior design book from the 70's, so i have a soft spot for rainbow wall stripes, flokati rugs and conversation pits.

I don't think it's hideous, but it takes a special space to accommodate it.

They had these in my college's dorms in the late 80s.
I think things like this only look good if you are too young to remember. At least in the larger spaces shown, something like it would work. I just pictured it in here, and it would be right on top of me. They're sort of assaulting to look at, really.

Yes! I've been thinking wallpaper for the great white way that is my living room wall, but this post changed my mind completely. There are certain trends from my childhood that I will never repeat (dried baby's breath and lots of brass), but I'm going to love seeing this in my home. It'll work well with my colored-out expedit (and much cheaper than wallpaper). Rainbow books on a rainbow wall. Thank you, Grace!

If you really want to live in a convention center or the Dallas/Ft. Worth airport, be my guest.
