The sign above is amusing for two reasons. 1) that's right by where we live, and 2) we found it on a site with an extensive archive of yard and garage sale signs from all over. A good site for signage inspiration, since we happen to be following our own advice and getting rid of a huge box of CDs and old clothes this week with our neighbors during a corner communal yard sale. A couple other amusing signs under the jump...

I would also like to add the third reason this sign is so amusing:
The grammatical addition of the parentheses cupping the S on the word "eye" assumes that there is a very real possibility that the reader of the sign could have either one or two eyes.

The colored signs on the bottom left are adorable, and SO true. I love it when someone just shows up at your door during the dinner hour, 2 days before... "Nosy-Pants" indeed!

The Johnny Cochran quote and the "eye(s)" seriously gave me the best laugh of the day. I wish the yard sale-ers in my area were this creative.

they must have a bunch of cyclops living near them and really didn't want to leave anyone out.

I love that blog! Why don't I ever see funny garage sale signs anywhere??? ;-( I'll have to submit my "The Yard Sale That Ate All Other Yard Sales" faux 50s horror poster sign, although it poured that day so it didn't really end up being the one that ate all others ... it just bit. ;-)

i'm sorry... but can someone please explain to me why the first sign is supposed to be funny (aside from the eye/eyes distinction)? i'm afraid i don't get the joke.
