We run into the strangest things when we're out for a walk and today was no exception. We were just minding our own business when we came upon this grass wall. The only thing more shocking than a grass wall is that, upon further inspection, the grass was...plastic!
Yeah we were totally shocked too. We thought it was a pretty ingenious idea to have your exterior wall have some plant matter growing on it (much like we love indoor wall planters) but for it to be plastic made our head spin. We've seen new condos put plastic carpet grass on the ground (because we imagine it's cheaper to maintain) but the glint off of it always gives it away and then we feel kind of creeped out. But what do you think? Is it still cool even though it's plastic?
Reminds me a little of Patrick Blanc'' work. I don't care for plastic though. The greenish tint that plastic seems to exhibit always looks rather unnatural to me. Well, quite literally, I suppose...

We've seen walls decorated with succulents so not fake grass. I think it's genius.

No life. Living walls are getting bigger in the design world; in an exterior application they could still be pretty cool.

Am I crazy for thinking that's really cool? C'mon, when is astro turf making a come back?! : P

Despite dedicated efforts to keep them healthy and happy, I am evidently the grim reaper of the plant world. For folks like me whose thumb is more gangrenous than green, this is a fabulous idea! Any how-to suggestions, anyone?

I think it's kind of weird and definitely bad for the environment. I just can't understand who would want fake plants when you can have real ones.
