This is purely cocky to me. You see the motorcycle being moved around to be included in every picture. Owning and riding a motorcycle myself, I noticed that the tires are way to clean for a true motorcycle rider. This could indicate that the person is having it as a display rather than riding it regularly. Or, if he cleaned it up for photo shooting purposes, it's ridiculous to move it around against the wood floor.

Get a garage, pal!

I agree with giggle - I have a m/c too and this guy is a poser or else rich enough to have one for show and one to ride - actually looking at his place that might be the case.

My parents and their Corvette club friends refer to non-daily drivers as "trailer queens". I think it's an apt description for this owner as well.

He definitely has a wheel fetish -- wheels on the bike, a cart, and on the dining room chairs -- wheee! He's on the move!

Ha ha ha, moving it around for photo opps is HILARIOUS. The only reason you should have your moto in your loft if is you have a freight elevator coming up the middle of it. And you're starring in a levis commercial.

He must have drained the oil because I don't see any drips on the floor. If there is oil in there, this house needs to be accessorized with an oil pan.

People choose what they love to put on display. This person likes the motorcycle.

I used to be in a Corvette club too, and I am very familiar with the "do not touch" vehicles. I know they have engines, but I don't know if the vehicles actually run. There's no dust on the engine.

And, a lot of folks here display art or furniture in the same manner. It's what they love. It's what they choose to spend their money on.

So realize that when folks here sometimes oooh and ahhh over a chair or table with two names (a first and last one), that it seems just as ridiculous and hilarious to people who are not at all into it.

P.S. I would run away if I went to a date's home and he had a motorcycle in the living room. A chair with a first and last name is one thing, but a motor vehicle? Uh-uh.

By the way, is there something "special" about that particular motorcycle? Like is it "rare"?

If someone were to take pictures of their home and move their prized exotic 2-name chair around the house so it was the centerpiece of every photo I think all the chair-o-philes would find it every bit as funny as we find this guy and his bike.

Posing it in multiple places around your living room for photo-ops: Absolutely hilarious.

just a reminder, it's against fire regulations to have a gassed up vehicle in a living space, so this must be for display not play.

Or like a girlfriend, posing "her" in just the right way?

i'm in a moped gang and since i dont have a garage, i used to have to keep my 78 Puch in my apartment. lots of mopedders have to haul their bikes indoors, even if it isn't exactly safe to have a fuel-filled vehicle indoors...i'd use old LA Weeklys to put under the tires and the engine so it wouldnt damage the floor...

i've since made arrangements with a neighbor to keep it in her garage during the rainy seasons, but sometimes you just gotta do what ya gotta do...

but yeah, i totally agree that this is just looks totally douchy and unnecessary.

I knew a couple in Manhattan who kept their bikes in their large loft apartment. The bikes were stored in the open living area near the apartment entrance. They were fortunate that the building had a giant freight elevator, ramped access, and wide hallways. Bikes can be beautiful, sculptural objects and if one has the space and capabilities to store one in their living space, I think it's great. The only downside, since it's not in a closet, you'll likely clean it constantly. Being a bike owner, I know I would.

My uncle added on to his garage and turned it into his office so he stores his motorcycle in his big foyer. I like seeing it there. That way, he can still enjoy it when weather/other prevents him from riding it.

We had a programmer that would bring his motorcycle inside our office space (it was an old warehouse)... but boy did it STINK! The fumes from gas (he'd RIDE it in) did a number for my migraines.

Real men would carry the motorcycle up to the loft to be near their bed. Only wussies leave it downstairs!

I'd rather see this trend than one more shot of Mahnolos and Jimmy Choos "as art."
