We spotted this eclectic bathroom corner in the latest issue of Domino. It's a much more personal alternative to paint, created by Los Angeles designer Schuyler Samperton. She "wallpapered" her bathroom with photos, magazine clippings, postcards, and other finds. Domino describes it as "a constant inspiration board and nostalgia trip" that "packs a ton of rock n' roll attitude into a small, nondescript space"...

The very first thing I noticed on that wall was BONG WATER. Silly.

I truly love this. Funny thing, that's also what my freshman dorm room looked like as my roommate and I were both art majors.

Oh, I love that band, I can't believe I didn't see that!

I love the collage idea anywhere but a bathroom because:
1) Moisture affects pictures and clippings
2) I don't want my grandma looking at me while I pee =)

I love the collage concept. I would do a wall in the kitchen and include pics of food, dear friends, dining experiences...
Akin to a bulletin board, but much more creative.

Mint julep - it does look like your bathroom! And yours looks great too!
I love this idea - it reminds me of my 'decorating' of college dorm rooms which brought smile to my face. But, I've not continued the practice which seems utterly boring of me at the moment.
I wonder if it would be a good idea to laminate the images in such a wet/damp environment?

I'm also wondering about the dampness issue...another question- what do you all recommend to attach images to walls (I'm thinking those double sided photo stickers for scrapbooks)?

My friends have this look going, with photos and a few postcards. However, the lavatory is in a separate room from the shower and you're facing the gallery as you sit. Isn't that really the point?
They use Blu-tak, which is like blue silly putty for posters.

I am definitely stealing this idea for my bathroom, as the walls are covered floor to ceiling with tiles and I cannot put up anything unless I either break the tiles or use scotch tape.
