We arrived home today to find this package from the LADWP placed neatly on or door stoop. Once we got settled indoors, we took our recycled bag and emptied its contents onto our bed. Inside we found lots of goodies bound for all LA residents over the next few months...
The LADWP is calling it their Compact Fluorescent Light Bulb Distribution program. Staffers are distributing two energy saving bulbs, along with other energy saving reading materials to all of LA residential customers. They're encouraging resident to use the new bulbs immediately, resulting in an overall savings of $68 for the lifetime use of the CFLs. We're thrilled that LA is providing this unique gift to its residents and are excited to see its positive effects.

No wonder California is broke.

I think I'll spring for the $68 and avoid horrible lighting. I hate those things. When I moved into my apartment I replaced all those ugly cfl's with nice halogen bulbs...I don't see dead (looking) people anymore!

But, I don't need any... I have all CFLs... that's kind of a waste on their part.

These are not "goodies" but another example of the wasteful spending and mismanagement of funds by LA County and city officials. It makes me sick to my stomach having to write my property tax check, knowing that my hard earned money is going to be squandered by morons.

Lots of goodies followed by a rate increase! This stuff is such junk and so wasteful.

the great thing about this is that its NOT from tax payer money. From the electric bill you pay...yes.
LADWP is propietary and still manages to charge WAY less than So Cal Edison.
whats even crazier is that if you use the lightbulbs they give you, your electric bill should be mildy less. So maybe you should be thanking those 'morons'.

Ericka2403, wake up and and do some research. No matter what way you try and paint it, it's wasteful and WE are paying for it.
