Last weekend I was in Vegas and stayed at the newly renovated "West Wing" at the MGM Grand. This would be MGM's version of a "boutique" hotel. The most interesting thing was in the room's bathroom. They embedded a television inside the mirror. It was especially fun to be able to catch up on news (or the saturday morning cartoons) while brushing my teeth.

I feel like I'm looking into the future...
i like the idea of using this for regular living room viewing, but all in all i think people who need to watch TV in the bathroom maybe should invest the money they would spend on this on some books or a hobby or something. i mean really. TV in the bathroom. aren't we already completely super-saturated by media and gadgetry already?
it does look super cool, though.
Saturate me more. Implant one in my head. I'm ready to go cyborg. Is anybody else going to watch the new show premiering this Sunday on the Science Channel?- Robosapien (In NYC Ch. 111, @ 9:00pm)
Granted it focuses on technology to aid the handicapped, but it's only a matter of time before some of this technology begins to be used for augmentation.

hey chris- that show looks really interesting-
must set the tivo...
I think it's probably designed for the work-aholic in you. Imagine have access to stock information right when you step out of the shower.
Of course there could be other applications like the TV turning on when someone's at the front door so that you can check who's there.
My husband & I were going to try that in our living room. Our TV is in a hole cut out of the framing above the fireplace, we were going to put a 2way mirror over the hole. From the mirror sample it seemed like you'd have to have the room completely dark to limit the reflection off the mirror enough for the TV to still be clearly visible. Works for a bathroom though!
This technology has been around for about 6 years. My company looked at bringing it to retail but decided the market was to niche to bring in any margin. If it ever breaks down, you have to dismantle the mirror, remove the lcd....too much drama for my loo thank you.
I've been there! I loved the design of the room, even though it felt like it took forever to get to the room. I also loved the frosted glass bathroom. Everything in there is so compact.
