This is an easy and affordable decorating trick. We love incorporating color and design into space and since mixing patterns is not always easy, sticking to 1 or 2 colors can make it less overwhelming.

I really dislike that chair in the lower right-hand corner; the different fabrics on the arms and seat make it look like a tacky DIY job.
I know that isn't the point of the post, but it's hideous and shouldn't have been included.
