We just looked through a pretty cool house tour over at Sköna Hem, and among the photos we saw, we were intrigued by this playful and unexpected pairing of lucite with heavy Grecian columns. What do you think? Do you think it works?

I'm going to have to vote no on this one. I love contrast and surprise in design but I'm not ready to embrace a revival of 80's postmodernism yet. Give me time, I'm sure I'll leap over that cliff!

I prefered the columns on the right (without the extra striping in the detail).

I have to agree with hans111 on this one. I like the look of lucite but it seems like it would be hard to keep pristine, which is the only way it looks good. As for columns, I don't like sentimental reminders of classical details.
Perhaps wooden Arts & Crafts type columns would be a more interesting combo?

I'm not crazy about the combo but I LOVE the lucite desk.

I loathe Lucite and question the sanity of both the owner, designer, and photographer every time I see it. To me it just screams 13 year old girl.
