Look! Peaceful Neutrals

081908_hg4.jpgThere's something about spending the day in the sun drenched outdoors surrounded by saturated color to make us want to retreat to a neutral, calming palette:

These images totally remind us of our stay at Moroccan style hotel in Palm Springs recently. The reason this works without going blah is because of the rich textures in all of the textiles and in the wood, the black of the wrought iron stair rail and chandelier and the cozy yet openness of it all. If you still want something more, spruce it up with a bold color to offset the neutrals.

Sticking to a neutral color palette is one way to make a small space feel bigger and leaves room for change since you can swap out accessories and not have to buy a new couch when you're ready to add some blue.

Is it me? I am not at all keen on those droopy curtains... esp. the 1st pic. Could imagine tripping over them as I bought in a tray of dishes to be washed!

I love the droopy curtains! And the crisp natural look of it all.
