Ha! bepsf you've got it right...I want to see a big round mirror of some sort right there. Maybe a sunburst mirror? Empty space like that makes me nervous....I'm weird, I guess.

I think it's great to have an empty space. I don't understand how ppl can hsve stuff, especially a mirror, hanging right over their heads. It could totally fall on you while asleep! No thanks!

I like the set-up! I think it "book-ends" the bed nicely. The empty space gives the wall some breathing room and keeps it from looking cluttered.

And, if they're like me, perhaps they're afraid of something falling off the wall and bashing them in the face in the middle of the night. Maybe they're in an earthquake zone!

No, I think the space just looks empty. Maybe the picture arrangements could move slightly into the space above the bed? Or, yes, something should just be hung in the middle. It's much better than before, though.

It's a negative space headboard. Genius!

I like the arrangement, but I would move it so that the largest frames overlap with the top of the headboard. It looks too symmetrical otherwise.

Well - if I'm not mistaken from watching that show, it's based in the Bay Area, CA.

Growing up in CA - they always tell you not to hang items - especially large and heavy items like mirrors - over your head or near your head....obviously because of earthquake issues...

So I like it fine - and it's safe!

liked it when i saw the show; not so much now. think the top two prints are just hanging on, but would like either side alone elsewhere. this symmetry seems forced.

i'd like to see a taller headboard... or wallpaper/paint out the whole area behind/above the bed and nightstands and the art.

I think a mirror would be great!

I like the idea, but not the symmetry. I'd create sort of a trailing asymmetrical arrangement with some overlap above the headboard.

Yuck. It looks cheap. For an earthquake zone, maybe. For a stylin' space, no way.

This caught my eye as I was quickly scrolling through my RSS feed items, so that's something.

I like it but I wouldn't go for the perfect symmetry. I would add some smaller items to add some subtle asymmetry.

I think it looks fine; however I could imagine how maddening it would be to get everything to hang perfectly. Even in this arrangement I can see that some of the frames are off by a quarter inch or so...

Pods, you read my mind about earthquakes. As for the look, I'm not sure if I like the symmetry. At first I saw antlers...maybe ears, now I see a giant fish with big lips.

It took me a few looks to work out exactly what bothers me about the 'after' photo. The empty space above the bed is fine, but while the bed arrangement is strictly symmetrical, the rug is not aligned on the same axis. I'm guessing that in the context of the whole room design the rug placement makes some kind of sense, but in this elevation it just looks crooked and wrong.

yeah.... i actually prefer the before bc the after looks like it should look awesome but doesn't... a taller headboard or a painted backdrop would have done wonders.
