Look! Red Painted Trellis Screens

093008_redscreen.jpgWe're thinking this could be a pretty cool idea for a loft space, inspired by this 1954 bathroom. Get some trellis sections available at a hardware store, paint them a bright color, and hang them strategically to create separate areas. If you're really handy, you could mount them on a track to create Japanese-esque sliding doors.

I love screens..my favorite are the ones in Steve McQueen's house in the original Thomas Crown Affair..love the car too and Faye Dunaway is fabulous.

I like these red screens too.

My favorite is from the 1969 James Bond film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" - the curved gilded screen in Piz Gloria where during a fight scene Diana Rigg pulls a villain through the screen and his head fits into one of the circles, making it look like a broken crown on his head as he tumbles down the curved staircase...

(Isn't this a vintage ad for Wilsonart or something?)

They look like they're knitted. Macrame, perhaps?
