For a lot of us the idea of having a room solely dedicated to working on projects is a total luxury (for some of us, ahem, it would be nice to just have more than one room in our apartment). So when we found pictures of heylucy's craft room on flickr we were a bit green with envy. When we saw that the transformation was mainly paint and decluttering, we were inspired. it also got us to thinking: You don't need a whole room in order to work on your jumpstart project (though it would be nice), you might only need a little nook or use of the coffee table. In fact your jumpstart project might even be creating a space to work on projects. Jump below to get inspired by this craft room's transormation:

aw. I liked it better before.

wow what an awesome transformation! Shows just what a little paint and organization can do!

I liked it a lot - until I realized the first picture was the before. Bright, clean & white doesn't get my creativity flowing, I guess.

I love it! Gives me inspiration for my own craft space. It can so easily get out of hand. I think the white is a good idea when there's so much potential clutter. And all the pops of color are fun against the white.

I kinda liked it before, too. The second picture is nice, but it's just another one of those White Rooms, if you know what I mean.

Yay for this organized craft room! I make these spool stands specifically for craft room organization: www.karenelizabeth.etsy.com!

Actually, I like what you did--I thought it was too dark before. I would say, though, more color would be fabulous!

The before was very nice and cozy, but I'm sure she can see everything so much better in the brighter, whiter room.
Cuteness in craft rooms must sometimes be sacrificed for the ability to work! ^_^
I'm still halfway through my project of trying to turn our little office space into a combo art space and little photo studio. The hardest part is definitely trying to figure out what's best to keep out and what should be tucked away.
Keep clicking on the pictures in that set on flickr - a little further along she has the most adorable wall decoration I've ever seen - it looks like little dollhouse armoires painted white to match the wall and hung up as well. I'm totally in love with it.

I think you might need to look at all the before pictures to get an idea how yucky it was (http://www.flickr.com/photos/heylucyloo/sets/72157594356047978/). The walls were painted a bunch of different, very ugly colors, and it was really dark and dusty feeling in there.
Also, I plan on hanging bright, colorful curtains over each of the bookcases, so there will be plenty of color in there again, and it's still really very cozy.
Oh, and thanks for the dollhouse furniture love Kaete, those are just little $1 finds from Michael's, painted white and hung on the wall. I like them too :o)

I used to have a computer armoire in a nook behind my sofa in my old apartment. I could sit sideways at the computer desk and look over the sofa to see the TV while I crafted, and if I wanted to hide everything, the armoire could be closed. Held a LOT of stuff, too!
