apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Look: Spring Cleaning In Full Effect

0411408-garagesale.jpgThat's our living room the night before Saturday morning this weekend. We emptied every box in our walk-in closet, followed our own advice to slim down our life, and put our apartment on a diet like Laure did just a short while ago...

The impetus for the whole shebang was to make some extra room in the closet where our deepest and darkest secrets are kept (aka our mess), while also making a little extra money. We co-hosted a yard sale with our neighbor Sara (whose apartment was shown here), and ended up selling a 100+ CDs, old appliances, books/magazines, clothes and most notably, a cockroach hand puppet (a birthday gift). At the end of the day, we made $200 and regained a whole lot of room in our closet (while also meeting a lot of amusing characters throughout the morning). Of course, we nearly blew all $200 away afterward celebrating over the weekend, but it was spent without any guilt after all the hard work and resolve that went into cleaning out things we really didn't need any more. With LA weather starting to perk up, we highly recommend you do the same and give your closet a storage colonic!

It may be the angle, since it's not a really clear view, but DANG - that cat seems HUGE!

Perhaps it's a dog. Inquiring minds need answers.

That's Eero, our mischievous cat. She's not any bigger than a standard feline, so its likely just the wide angle lens making her seem "wider" :D

That's pretty much what my LR looks like right now (plus one cat). I'm in the midst or the Cure, a job change and finals!

I'd love to see the "after" pics. Both in your place and in mine.

In LA, everyone leaves work early and by the time you've commuted home through traffic having left at 4PM, perhaps it feels like a whole 'nother day of the week (SCORE, theweekendbeginsday!)
