Look!: Succulents In a Birdbath

100708bird-02.jpgGrowing up, our grandparents had a stone birdbath as an accessory in their backyard. We say accessory because the birdbath never had water in it. It always did a really good job of reminding us that we were susceptible to droughts since it was always dry as the Sahara. So when we saw this repurposed bird bath yesterday at the California Cactus Center (store tour coming soon) we had to spread the word.

What a better way to showcase succulents and repurpose an item that doesn't get enough use. Because of the no water drainage factor, you'll need to water these low maintenance plants even less than before.
In what unique container do you display your succulents in?

Great idea. I went Succulent shopping with a friend over the weekend for his balcony flower box. The world of succulents which I am new to is amazing. Thanks for the post I amy try this.
