I was a bit perplexed by the bathroom as an entry, but my guess is that there's either a pool on the upper level or a beach/lake nearby, so the shower is the logical entry point back into the house. (The shower is up against the glass, not the toilet). There's also a shower curtain you can see in most pictures, but I imagine you'd want to close the glass door just to be sure a breeze doesn't undo any attempts at modesty.
