The camper has all the amenities you would expect from a motor home: kitchen, bathroom, sleeping space, storage, etc. But we love the Japanese aesthetic. The interior is mainly wood, the storage is built in to the stairs that go up to the sleeping loft. And the sleeping loft itself is completely empty for a zen experience. Instead of being crammed in a bunk, the loft has skylights that let you sleep under the stars and an uncluttered atmosphere to give you peaceful sleep.
See more pictures and an explanation of how they made this on the two story camping car site including a movie of how the second story lifts up and pictures from their trip.
LOL - Now that's funky! In a good way :)

Yikes, must be tough to drive under bridges in that thing... It's not all that easy on the eyes.

I love this project, It actually gives me an idea or two for an old camper that I have. I will call my little project Camper meets Little House. A nice addition to my little camping club. I won't have to worry about traffice, as it will be staying on my property. Adding a second floor will not only add living space, but it will also help by adding a new roof over the whole structure, as well as increase my view of Southern Lake Champlain. As I will get to the new second floor from the bunk already above the drivers seat, where I will be increasing the size of the old vent. I won't need a another ladder or set of stairs. Even though I love how they made their little stairs with all that storage.
I look forward to any additional feedback or ideas as I move forward with my little camper recycling project, and my Eco friendly plans for the future. www.SouthernLakeChamplain.com
