We love the effect of Bauke Knottnerus' trompe l'oeil curtains, being both a room divider while also fooling the eye perceptually into believing a larger space exists, thanks to the print of a room with perspective accuracy. The theatrical effect would especially be impressive if one had a curtain with day and evening scenes, perhaps with backlighting behind the curtain in the right places to complete the effect. We expect custom digital prints on fabric is not necessarily a cheap option, but printing is available on voile, poly poplin, Celtic cloth, vinyl and the magician's fabric, scrim for a variety of effects...

This idea could also be applied to walls, instead of as a divider, as a supergraphic on runners that could be open and closed for a "view", to hide a TV, or shade off large windows while retaining some sort of view.

Interesting idea but really like the lines (what I can see) of the table and chairs. Any ideas on the manufacturer?

I really like the idea of using curtains in unexpected areas of the home, such as in a niche, or to separate a large space. I love the effect a lovely bit of fabric can have on a room.
That said, the trompe l'oeil idea for the home doesn't sit well with me. To me it feels as though the decorator is compensating for something that isn't there, instead of embracing what is. Like a beautiful girl with too much makeup.
Some things (not all) are more beautiful without unnecessary embellishment.
