You're probably wondering what fellow AT blogger, Abby, is doing holding a wood slice while wearing a fancy dress. We were oohing and ahhing at all the items we liked at the Domino Bazaar last week and we both gravitated toward this wood slice. Sure, we'd seen wood slice coasters before but a wood slice tray? We have ideas on how to repurpose this wood slice in your home plus other ways to bring wood decor into your space.

This is a wood slice from West Elm which retails for $29.00. You can use it as a tray to hold decorative items, a landing pad for your keys and sunglasses or place a plant on top. We also really like the look of the wood slice by itself and also thought it would be neat to have a wall full of hanging wood slices.

This website promotes using each wood slice as a stepping stone.

Pottery Barn takes their wood slices and uses them in decorative vases. You can use them to steady flowers or keep them contained as is for $14.00.

I was bucking up trees at the local cross-country ski club (non-profit) this weekend for firewood. I should turn into a fundraiser for the club. Sheesh. Wood slices for $29??? Crazy.
