Mount Washington A-Frame Woodsy Retreat

Name: Milton Court A-Frame
Location: Mount Washington, CA
Size: 1,520 square feet

A reader sent us these images of a home just around the corner from where she lives, noting the 1965 built hillside home's colourful interior and engaging multi-level layout that gives the interior a dollhouse appearance from certain angles. We've got a soft spot for exposed post and beam construction homes, and this one is especially charming for all the unique spaces within (love that top loft bedroom)...

The Mount Washington A-Frame Woodsy Retreat offers a 3 bedroom + Loft, 2 bathroom A-Frame design, alongside an equally unique 3-tier outdoor living/garden with large stone fireplace to enjoy outdoors entertaining opportunities sure to arise living in such a space. Besudes the post and beam construction, the parquet floors, and the orange red steel-rod suspended staircase, what we most like is the targeted use of colours throughout the home to brighten up angled darkened corners created by the home's A-frame design.

If you like it enough, you can actually purchase this moderate sized home...it's on the market.

This home is stunning! I love the way color is used throughout the house- it's bright and cheery, but not overwhelming. I could move in right now!

Oh, man. I so love A-Frames! And this one has been done over in a great way... I am totally digging all the color... Just a real stand out all around. Makes me wish I wasn't such a LOSER and could rush out instead and buy it! Ugh, I hate my life...

Way too bold for me - and the a-frame structure is not something I could live in.

@ bittergaymark, I'm SURE you aren't a loser, many of us are not in the market to buy, me included so cheer up dear. :-)

As for the house, love its execution, the kitchen simply looks to still have its original cabinets, just repainted and new appliances put in, I'd replace the light over the sink and in the bathrooms with something more mid 60's in design and it'd made a nice modern beach inspired home.

Love it's wonderful use of color in amongst the white which helps, first off, makes them pop and secondly, the white, while not overpowering, works to help keep the space light and airy.

Good family friends have a modified A frame, in that it's a standard box construction on the first floor w/ the A frame on the second floor, built in the late 60's, it's a TRUE beach house, master/loft upstairs, living, dining and kitchen, single bath and back bedroom downstairs, what more do you need? :-)

I also love the furniture used here as well, fits in w/ the style of the space.
