Love him or hate him, you have to give Philippe Starck credit for staying in the limelight for years now with an agile sense of self-promotion. The walking ego of design (we personally love him, faults and all) will fill the shoes of host and judge on his show “School of Design”, making ten aspiring industrial designers' lives miserable as they vie for his approval. Just imagine him as a bearded and larger Gordon Ramsey, sans apron, giving UK participants a chance at winning an opportunity to work at Starck’s studio for six months. We guess Philippe changed his mind about design being dead, huh?

What? No $100,000 prize to start your own design firm?
I hope they show it on BBC America.
Perhaps if everyone writes in....

Somehow, I can't imagine PS going all "Gordon Ramsey" on some hapless designer for doing something like using the wrong shade of pink...
...with his being French, I'd imagine his insults would be much more subtle and civilized.
