PickURPine Toothpick Holder

020209pickyourpine.jpgWe're pretty sure we've never posted about a toothpick holder, nor ever really considered getting one. But if were to indulge, we'd be tempted to get this lil' cute critter from Suck UK. This doesn't suck at all...we'd just be a little sad pulling out one of it's quill, ensuring we'd keep the holder always fully stocked.

Holds up to 29 toothpicks and is available from Amazon for $15.25.

I look at this thing and I think, cute, but do I really want a toothpick somebody handled - if only to carefully arrange it?

Even if you're a careful porcupiner and try to hold these mid-shaft, once three toothpicks are inserted, you can only insert the rest by holding them at the tip unless you have the most delicate fingers. I'm not a germophobe, but my mother once told me not to arrange the candies in the dish too carefully because certain things should look unhandled - like toothpicks and chocolates. No one talks about it, but that's some wisdom my mom dropped on 8-year old greasy fingered me.

Max, I loved how you broke it down. I guess if you're worried about cooties transmission, this isn't a good accessory :D

I think 29 is a weird number. I once worked in a restaurant that had just opened and one day, the gumball guy came in to fill the giant gumball machine. I had no idea until then that all gumballs came in bags of one color and then they send a person out to load and arrange them all by hand. Bare hand. Toothpicks are weird. This is a novelty item for people who like toothpicks and being a weird person. I can't say anything bad on account I liked the bear salt and pepper shakers so much, I ended up buying 3 pairs. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2367/2245258107_fd160c30ac.jpg?v=0

What a clever way to stick yourself while trying to delicately pull one of those manhandled picks.

Why on earth would anyone want to display toothpicks?

another use for needlenose pliers. All of the Monks can just pluck each toothpick from the box with the (steam sanitized) pliers and insert them into the 'Pine
