Looks like Pier 1 has joined in on the fray for the eyes and wallets of the youth market, offering a limited selection of youth furniture with their Pier 1 kids line. Most of the selection of "the delightfully durable surprisingly affordable furniturrific store" is yawn inducing, me-too pieces that pale in comparison to the choices offered by their peers IKEA, Target, PBTeen or Urban Outfitters. We wish Pier 1 kids would offer more items like their Plicker Saucer Chair, made of hand-woven plastic wicker, suitable for indoor or outdoor use, and more in tune with what both parents and kids are looking for in youth furnishing. Here's to hoping Pier 1 can step it up in the next round...if the line survives to see another day.
