Reyner Banham Loves Los Angeles

More than three decades ago Reyner Banham, professor of architecture history from University College, London came to auto-tour Los Angeles, a city which he proclaimed "makes nonsense of history and breaks all the rules". Mr. Banham obviously has an affinity for our humble town, and his fascinating outsider's observation and video time machine reveals how LA lived and breathed back in 1972 in all her sprawling "beauty". We especially love how the audio tour is presented via 8-track tape, and it's great fun spotting our favourite landmarks all throughout the 51 minute BBC documentary. This might explain why there's so many Brits living here in LA![via Land+Living]
