The Cleaning Robots of WALL•E

wall_e_postcard_3-1.jpgThis afternoon while I was moving across the vinyl floor with bucket, cleaner and a wash towel in hand, diligently scrubbing away all the dirt/scuffs, I suddenly realized I must have been a spitting image of the tiny cleaning droid "M-O" that obsessively cleans all the "contaminants" from the pristine floors in the wonderful new animated feature, WALL•E. The film certainly appealed to the clean freak in me, with a myriad of robotic cleaning and organizing machines that are orchestrated to wondrous cinematic effect.

Check out some of the other keen futuristic cleaning bots from Pixar's faux corporation promo site below the jump...

We're especially fond of the futuristic vision of the Roomba floor vac named SALL•E and we're eagerly awaiting the appearances of these hover chairs despite the precautionary tale. More WALL•E related fun here...but we recommend to just go see it. It's one of our favourite films of the year!

Wonder if Hanna-Barbara is smacking themselves on the head right now. All this time, they had Rosie!
Loving the fauxbots.

Haven't seen the movie but I love my 570 Roomba for hard surface floors.

I wish that instead of the deco, 50-styled posters that they kind of already did in The Incredibles that they would have done something more futuristic- I'm thinking something like ultra colorful, intense Japanese anime styled posters would have been pretty cool.

"intense Japanese anime styled posters would have been pretty cool."

It's an American movie for Americans. Rather see outdated familiar elements that create a sense of comfort and faux-history, than completely new, therefore financially risky anything. It's all about the money, and being Disney make no mistake about it.

The poster is silly, but the site is a brilliant parody of corporate communications bullshittery - much more pointed and satirical than anything in the rather treacly film. Core Values busted me up.
