The Satellite City

satdish-decoratla07.jpg

I wanted to share this amusing photo before I got to the grind in the office this Tuesday morning. I absolutely love this idea of rethinking the "satellite city" landscape as an opportunity for artistic expression, as realized by a Dutch artist in Amsterdam, Netherlands (each satellite was done by local school children). Here's to unexpected moments of art and beauty around the urban landscape.

I kinda like this. It's refreshingly creative. I don't know if I'd want to look at it every day, but then again - I might.

Well dang, Boomer - not what I was expecting from you! ;->> I agree, though - I'd probably think it was unique and cool the first time I passed it. Not sure what I'd think the 10th time...

Creative idea, and not at all boring. And some really great artwork. I want the one with the palm trees :-).

Love it! I could become very fond of this as a landmark, sort of like that building in SF that has furniture glued to the outside.

Now if DirecTV would allow painting of satellite dishes...
