I believe the only time I've set foot inside a
Neiman Marcus was by complete accident. Disoriented and spun around by a rambunctious bus load of european tourists, I found myself cattled through the gilded doors in
Monsieur Hulot fashion while window shopping in Beverly Hills. It's not that I don't like Neiman Marcus...it's more that Neiman Marcus seems to have a bit of disdain for those like myself whose credit is several notches below platinum status (I've recently been upgraded from a Visa Tin™ card to Visa Aluminum™). But that doesn't mean I can't admire and note many of their fine wares from afar via their website.
What caught our eye were the surprising multitude of beautiful botanical decor items, like these Lotus Flower Chandeliers or these soothing linen Leaf Pillows and matching Leaf Place Mats. I'm not even very fond of roses, but this Seven-Piece Rose Serveware Set is a tabletop beauty, and which I could only imagine would take the hummus quartet I picked up from Trader Joe's to another level upon eating from it. Alas, I'll have to settle for a George Clooney designed mug and live vicariously through some of our more well heeled readers.
Wow, I just looked at the prices for the Lotus Flower Chandeliers, they are almost 2x the price of other retailers!!

Years ago Neiman-Marcus gave me a credit card. I do not know what they were thinking.
So, yeah, I went shopping. All I could afford was a sweater set in the discounted area - yes, they had one. I forced myself to buy the set. I still remember it. Dark green. Plain. This was, oh say, 20 years ago? I paid approximately $250 for it. Neither the card nor the set lasted. The sweater set fell apart after two dry cleanings. The card is the only card I've ever cut up and throw out.
Just thought I'd share...you can always get it for less elsewhere.
