Skate Study House

EAMES_skatestudyhouse_furniture.jpg.jpg
For all you skaters and once-skaters with MidCentury sensibilities, here's an amusing collection of furniture by Pierre-André Senizergues and Gil Le Bon de Lapointe for Colette. The Isamu Noguchi reinterpretation actually looks seriously pretty good, opposed to the visual camp we normally associate with these sort of style mashups. Colette will be showcasing their work as of January 28th, with mention of many more styles to be showcased.

I don't see how this is creative at all considering sk8 shops have been doing the seating and shelving for years. Is simply applying one person's idea to another person's idea creative nowadays?
I suppose you can chalk it up to the current "mash-up" phase that music and culture is going through but that's just as devoid of creative thinking as this. Although this requires more skill than music mashups do.

That's funny, I was just trying to find where to get cheap skateboarding parts to make my own pieces for my sisters room. (inspired by Potterybarn teen)
