My Great Outdoors: Maggie B's Slowly Designed Space

2009greatoutdoorsbadge.gifName: Maggie B
Location: Silver Lake, CA
Type of space: Front porch
Tell us about your outdoor project and how you enjoy it: When I first moved in this was nothing more than a storage area and slowly it has evolved to the perfect place for an afternoon of lounging and an evening glass of wine with friends. I love being outside, especially when it's too hot to stay inside...the porch is like a whole extra room.

How did you create it? This space was created slowly, over time....first the sculptura couch and then the wall art found during a trip to San Miguel and then the gardening - the Jasmine on the railing really made the space feel (and smell) special. Adding the geraniums was a nice touch of extra color and the rug really brought it all together.

I love the wall ornament. That is a very clever use for it, out on the porch.

I would be too timid to use all the color but it's really cozy and relaxing, not to mention perfectly scaled.

Wow! Very pretty! I'm inspired to add more color to my outdoor space…wish I had the guts to see it through.

Thanks for all the positive feedback. It totally encourages me to bring some color inside as well.

Nicolson....the chair is vintage - Woodard Sculptura (and a can of orange spray paint). I found that one on CL.....
