Cindy Crawford's Home in Elle Decor

02-16-crawford-5-.jpgCindy Crawford must have done something right in her past life. Unlike Janice Dickinson, she is a bona fide super-model. She’s got a hot, successful hubby, plus kids and a career. Now, with the help of designer Michael Smith, she has a Malibu home with some spectacular Pacific coast views.

When celebrities grace the cover of an interior design magazine, we tend to scrutinize a little harder. Is she on the cover because her home is truly worthy of the attention, or did her publicist get her the gig?

We have to say, while we are not huge fans of the heavy wood and furniture in the main living spaces, when views become the artwork, we are impressed. We also like the mélange of fabrics and ethnic prints, which give the house grace, while maintaining a casual, inviting environment. Good job, super model!

I remember the last time Cindy's home was featured in Elle Decor. Actually I prefer it to her current home.

"This is our married house." Ugh. A little too chirpy for me. But I am sure she's a lovely person, I mean, it must be hard to decorate on such a budget.

I loved the photo-tour of Cindy's abode... I think the choice of materials and textiles is majestic, not in a tacky, flashy sort of way but in a rustic way. Very colonial (love that look!).

Like the bedroom. Seems balanced. Agree about not liking the heavy wood. Do not like the living room...seems cluttered.

Cindy Crawford has her name on a line of furniture at a chain of stores called Room something. I was in one of the stores of the holidays and thought it was cheap. It's no wonder she doesn't have any of it in her Malibu home.

Where can I get a mirror like the one she has in her bedroom?

I have been a huge Cindy Crawford ever since her first appearance in catalogs eons ago. When I saw her on the cover of Elle Decor last week, I had to pick up a copy. Although her taste isn't my own, it's too dark and a little heavy, it's still beautiful and their property is to die for. I would take a one room cottage on property like that, nevermind a majestic dream home.

I think she has very nice taste - You people are just jealous! You have no idea how to appreciate a view of the ocean like that either! Just that alone is awesome, but a bedroom like that - it's very French/Italian/Napa Style which she knows because she's been there - . Cindy, I think it's great you name your furniture after our 'hood - Topanga, Malibu, Hollywood, etc. But where can we buy your furniture in So. Cal.? People need to stop bagging on people - - if you don't like what someone has do you really need to degrade/demote their taste - - if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all - isn't that what you were taught? Yes, free speech, but have some kooth - class - etiquette!

I really like the feel of the bedroom and would love to find an ethnic quilt like she has at the end of the bed. Any suggestions?

I found a "Malibu" dining room table set that I like on line, but can't seem to find any Rooms to Go that have it in their showroom. The quality looks good, but I would really like to see it before I purchase it. Has anyone seen this line in a showroom in Charlotte, NC?

Thanks for any info.
