January and February are notoriously thin months in terms of magazines, and this month Elle Decor is no exception…kind of underwhelming. Even the What's Hot! page seems, well, lukewarm.
The hand made Jenny Chandelier from Oly ($1850) is interesting, although not quite our cup of tea.
We like Carl Martinez' rock crystal hardware, although at $325-$745, we are not sure what dresser is willing to play second fiddle to its drawer pulls.
The Python plates from Kiln Design Studio are funny but for some reason we are a little grossed out by them and not sure if we'd be able to eat anything off of the python design without being freaked out.
We always liked the Nambe brushed metal bowls and the new glass bedside decanter ($75) is quite lovely.

Agreed. Flipped through both Elle Decor and Met Home in about 5 mins each, and then tossed them both in the recycling bin...
Enrique- I agree completely I was so bored with looking at all the ads that I really didnt see any design.

Her new table lamp is featured in Elle Decor on page 98- its the twiggy plaster lamp with the Lucite base.
Its pretty cool...
OMG, Turquoise. What a HOT tip on your friend's pieces at Moth Design! My copy of Elle Decor is long gone, so I clicked over to her site. I am drooling over the Danny Sconce, Twiggy Floor Lamp (in green) and Lizard Brooch Chandelier. So. So. Good.
PS Got the new Domino in the mail last night. And this issue seemed to hold my attention longer than the current Elle Decor and Met Home. Lots of good stuff this month.

I can't even handle seeing the snake plates here - I think I'd need therapy after trying to actually eat off one (big time fear of snakes).
Enrique - I was pleased with the latest Domino, too. So far, so good for a new mag. I also picked up the recent Budget Decor (Budget Decorating? I forget the exact title but Maxwell has a q&a column in it) which has some promise.
