February is Bedroom month! Do you have a great bedroom or have done some interesting decor projects you'd like to share? Email it to us or tag your flickr photos with "apartmenttherapyla."
Last week, Gregory did a post about preparing for an earthquake. I've always had a superstition about hanging anything heavy or sharp above my head. Aside from a headboard, I keep that area clear. Do you have anything above your bed besides a headboard? Answer the survey and share in the comments!

i live in alabama. no worries there!
it's bad feng shui! (are more technically: it's disruptive to sleep while worrying about something falling on your head)
My brother-in-law went to India and brought back a tapestry that I stretched over a wooden frame made of 1x2 to use as a headboard. It goes from floor to ceiling and the bed pushed up against it keeps it up and wouldn't be that bad if it did fall. Fortunately it covers the original 1947 wallpaper that we can't do anything about since we rent. Click my name for a pic of the headboard (work in progress) and the awful duck that got covered up.
I once stayed on a cot in a hotel in NM and the mirror came down on me...thankfully I was wrapped up in a blanket so i instinctively curled up against the wall and saved myself from thousands of shards of glass...
