If the saying is true that, "God is in the details" than this church in the St. Bartholomew's Church in the Eastern Bohemian village of Chodovice/Czech Republic definitely has God present even in the chairs. In lieu of pews, they opted for an "army" of white Verner Panton chairs, with crosses punched into the backs. The design group Qubus responsible for the remodel also opted for adding Persian rugs, typically a staple of Muslim shrines and rough-cut crystal chandeliers.

"God is in the details"
i'm pretty sure hacking up someone else's design classic is not what Mies had in mind.

Clarification on Persian rugs. The reason that they're a staple of mosques is simple - the people who make the rugs are Muslims. And because individual prayer rugs are a staple of life.
Other than that, they're simply a sign of good taste (and in some cases, wealth).
However, I very much doubt that the rugs in the photos are actual Iranian (Persian) rugs.
Those look more like cheap fake machine made rugs made by the millions in Belgium. I've looked at literally thousands of rugs to decide which ones to buy for resale, and these simply don't look right. I wouldn't pay a dime for those rugs.
I could be wrong, but to my eye those rugs are cheap fakes. Real Iranian (or even Afghan, Turkish or Pakistani) rugs would have been breathtaking in that space. What a shame.
As for the stripped paint look, I hope the church sues the "designers".
The chairs aren't bad looking, they almost look like kneeling worshipers from the side. They don't look comfortable though but no plastic chairs from the 50s/60s were.
I think the designers did a terrible job overall. The only thing classy about the result is the lighting and the look of the fake rugs.
But I've seen nicer rugs in System of a Down concerts.
