Ikea 2008 catalog- your take?

It's that time again... I'm sure many of you have received the new IKEA 2008 catalog by now and have been flipping through its many pages. AT Chicago posted it last week, and has already been giving some initial reviews. We just got ours (it was included in Sunday's newspaper), but if you haven't seen it yet, you can view it here.

So far, our first impression is that red is the "hot" new accent color, with green a close second, and a strong preference for black and white. (AT:NY felt the same, see their review here) We're still browsing, but would love to hear what you, the AT:LA reader, is feeling (liking, loving, disliking, etc...) about the new catalog. Any favorite pieces you think will be finding a place in your home soon? Discuss in the comments!

Have to say...I'm very disappointed in this year's catalog. Even went to Ikea yesterday to pick it up...waste of a trip plus it was ZOO!

Ha, I went too and it was a zoo. There were a couple of things I liked, mainly all the bright green pieces. Has anyone else noticed that the showroom has a much 'messier' or possibly 'organic' feel to it. Like all the beds are unmade and the kitchens have more stuff in them. I don't know if I like it...

I was inspired by that photo you posted above of the bedroom. I am going out today to buy some light blue paint. What I like best (and I will copy the idea) is the curved border left around the 4 sides of the blue wall. I plan on doing this in my bathroom.

I think the new catalog is great. It's pretty interesting.

i thought that ikea was finally on the nose for adding in the outdoor galvanized shelving. I will be purchasing that for my gardening prep area! it is nice and very inexpensive, as far as galvanized stuff goes!
I also liked that there was more new in this catalog than in previous, i am concerned however that they discontinued my cabinetry. They had assured me that it would be in stock for a very long tme. i kinda needed some more of it.... hopefully there is a little hidden away for me!
