Kelly Wearstler's Boutique at Bergdorf Goodman

A little more Hollywood in the Big Apple. Many of the projects that Kelly Wearstler is famous for have been based here in Southern California, but her latest one is in NYC. Last week was the grand opening of her very own small in-store boutique, located at the famous Bergdorf Goodman store. She recently re-did their BG restaurant, and now the store will be selling an exclusive line of her home accessories, or rather "objects d'art".

Grace at Designsponge attended the opening party and took some great shots of the event. You can see all the eclectic and gorgeous pieces, all gilded in gold or made of marble. I LOVE Wreastler's work but if these pics are any indication, she's about to dilute her brand. Some of the stuff (here and on House&Garden) looks cheap and woefully unoriginal. Canada's Debbie Travis did the same thing when she threw away her cred in exchange for a deal with Canadian Tire. Sure money talks, but does it have to scream? Wreastler's already fabulously wealthy, does she really need a "line" too? Maybe Jonathan Adler's retail success was getting under her skin.
