Eco Design by Freya Bardell

Vive la France! We saw so many interesting designs at the French Consul's that this is part deux of our roundup (so as not to overwhelm).

Any way we can fit more plants into our everyday lives is a bonus. Freya Bardell has the right idea and uses plants with abandon in her sculptures and eco-designs. Our favorite is the room-sized Terrarium she built inside a Silverlake residence. The rooms inside the house have various portholes that look onto the jungle like room.

These pots are designed specifically for chocolat chaud. We didn't even know that something so indulgent existed, but we should have known that the French would be responsible. Available through Esprit Porcelaine, a design collective of artists that are really into porcelain.

And amidst all of it there were some nice simple stripes. Tablecloths, fabric and napkins designed by Jean-Vier who specialze in traditional Basque textiles and design.
