New Home Launch: Brocade Home

We were lucky enough to have a GEM of an email sitting in our inbox just a day ago from Brocade Home’s lead designer Lisa Versacio who jumped ship from West Elm. She told us that she is a fan of the site and released some photos to us for a very special preview. She also gave us some background to the company...

Brocade Home is a new fashion home brand launching in the second week of September under the Restoration Hardware Inc. umbrella. Customers can preview the line and order a catalog through the website BrocadeHome.com.

BH was created by Lisa Versacio, who previously developed and launched West Elm for Williams Sonoma Inc. The BH brand “fuses the past with modern sensibility, integrating clean lines with a touch of decoration and romance.”

The 64 page book will feature the line’s sofas, loveseats, upholstered chairs, jacquard pillows, glass crystal chandeliers, baroque like mirrors, luxurious bedding and window panels in fabrics like burnout velvets and sheer silk jacquards.

If these special released photos are any indication of what’s to come from Brocade Home, we are all in for a huge treat. We personally have our eye on the chocolate brown puff ottoman. If you love getting catalogs as much as we do, the first push goes out in a couple of weeks and will be in your box by September 12th if you sign up quick!

wow...fantastic! very refreshing from what is out there. i don't get the anthropologie-esque comment. i don't think it looks like anthropolgy at all. i think it looks 10 time better!!

Looks pretty great, and I love the chocolate brown ottoman, too! Pretty smart of Restoration Hardware to develop a new line. I've been pretty bored with their catalog as of late.

does anyone have any idea what the price points will be?

Is brocade home going to be what west elm is to pottery barn/williams sonoma? If so, the prices will prob be much better than RH, and Id better get my wallet out!

i'd love to hear men's comments on these images. i find the pics lovely, romantic and sumptuous, but somehow, i just cannot imagine my husband going for any of this stuff shown -- the pinks, the brocades, the velvets. i think so much of this newer trend in romanticism appeals way more to women. what do others think?

Barbara, I agree. I totally love this - white walls, button tufting, velvet upholstered pieces, chocolate and pink, chandeliers. Yum. However, it is definitely a very romantic and feminine look. I can't imagine my husband loving this, at all. Fortunately we are usually able to find a happy medium, but in my dream world I would live in this modern Victorian setting!

A male point of view as requested:

I love it! The organic shapes blending with the minimalist shapes and profiles are very handsome.

The ottoman is sumptous and I want it. It also helps that the pictures were shot in a period flat with the kind of detailing I also love.

Thomas, I was thinking the same thing re: the detailing. I adore this stuff in this setting - the wooden floors showing their age, the high ceilings and gorgeous crown molding. My favorite type of space, but sadly, not the type of space I live in. I wonder how this look would work in a more average setting, or in my case, a boxy conrete loft.

And just when I'd convinced myself that given my small boxy apartment, mid-century modern is the way to go...THIS tempts me away.

This is clearly marked for a female demographic.

Shari, why not mix it up?
A little Baroque, a little modern, a little mid-century. The sofas and side chairs (above), while beautiful, don't look extremely comfortable. I don't think you have to do your space in all one style or another. Those chandeliers or mirrors mixed in with some more modern furniture would be stunning.
I also think, like Mags and Thomas suggested above, that just about anything would look fantastic in the space where the photography was taken. That's the beauty of good commercial photography/catalog work.
I also agree with Shari that this is for a female demographic. Look at the picture of the bed with seven pairs of awesome heels at the foot of the bed. I don't know any guys who would wear those. Okay, maybe I do.

It may look better then Anthropologie, but the success of Anthropologie is what probably lead to this store opening. I'm excited, as I always wish that Anthropologie had even more home offerings, and at more varied price points. Yay!

Good Heavens - who cares what one's husband thinks! Since when did he go out decorating? That's MY domain, he sure isn't wearing those green pumps. The industry has been WAY too long with the tufted back, brown leather chunky, ugly sofas - bring back PRETTY!

Can't wait for the launch!!
