We were reminded recently of how much we love going to the restaurant Off Vine in Hollywood.
Going to the old, arts and crafts style house makes you feel like you’ve been invited over to a friend's home for a really good, home cooked dinner. The food is "California American cuisine with an homage to the comfort foods".
What we like about Off Vine is its atmosphere and vibe. With so many LA haunts looking either beyond cutting edge cool or literally stuck in an unappetizing strip mall it’s nice to be in a setting that is calming… Very un-LA. Very nice for a change, and perfect for us home-body Cancer types.
Off Vine is one of those great LA/Hollywood restaurants that feels like it's been around forever (but not quite long enough to have established "institution" status), something that makes me happy. I always seem to forget about the restaurant, but am really satisfied and pleased each time I visit for dinner, every few years or so.
