Despite what Kermit says, it is easier than ever before to be green, with public interest in eco-friendly products and information growing each day. Discovery Channel's foray into eco-friendly broadcasting is banking on that growing interest with a relaunch of it's Discovery Home Channel into PlanetGreen, a channel with documentaries and green related programming focused on eco-friendly products, green tips, organic foods, and progressive architecture.
With the excess of home decor, DIY and design competition shows already out there, we're hoping the Discovery Channel's PlanetGreen will offer a substantive selection of programs that ride that fine line of educational and entertainment (like their amazing Planet Earth series). Although we would sort of like to see a version of Trading Spaces (hosted by Al Gore) where people would switch from their everyday lives into living a more eco-friendly one, or even better yet, Green Eye for the SUV Guy! Recycling With the Stars anyone? I keeeed.
