Zia-Priven Design was asked to design and donate a spectacular, over the top, yet classic Modern chandelier which will be unveiled at The Lounge Area of The AD Show in New York (March 9th). The chandelier, called "The Troy", will then be auctioned off by The Rockefeller Foundation to benefit Aids research.
The Troy is a Modern interpretation of the classic French Empire chandelier, but here's the twist- It is made almost entirely of Ping Pong Balls (over 5000), and will be almost 10ft tall by 4 1/2 ft wide.
Zia-Priven plans to make a smaller version which will be available to all.

Thanks for the post, Alec! We are so thrilled about this piece- not only are there thousands of ping pong balls but the center ring is going to be a high polished nickel with a raised ring motif- very Moderne and sexy. It's been a heck of an endeavor, the largest chandelier we've ever done but we can't wait to see it hanging at the AD Show- the ping pongs have such an amazing glow- who would have thought?! We hope some of the Angelenos can make it out to the show, remember we're natives and it's still home to us! It's going to be a great show- great design, celebrities, parties, etc. Hope to see you there!
