The freshly painted blue walls makes the office feel alive and inviting. From IKEA to Restoration Hardware, each furniture piece seems to mix effortlessly. Our favorite finds from the office makeover have to be the mirrored dresser from Pier I Imports (to hide office supplies) and the white file cabinet from Ballard Designs which helps balance the space. You'll have to hop over to the original post and see all the "Before & After" images (amazing). But we have included one "Before" pic to give you an idea of how much the space has transformed!

I love designs that have a nice, understated use of purple. That purple vase with flowers against the white of the set of drawers and lamp is just gorgeous.

Wow - If you hadn't told me that the "Before" was Tyra Banks' office, I'd have never imagined it.
The "After" is definitely appropriate for her - or just about any beautiful professional woman.

That grey tufted couch seems to be the one sold by Target for around $400 and by Urban Outfitters by around $600 -- I've been really hoping to find one used and *very* cheap on FreeCycle or Craiglist in NY... ideally in either red or purple.
I love it and want it to complete the look I'm going for in my Firefly-inspired bedroom (which I asked for advice about here:

Does anyone in the NY AT community have one of these tufted settees (also called "fainting sofas" at UO) that you don't need anymore?

I agree with bepsf. It's hard to imagine someone as vibrant at Tyra Banks working in the 'before' office.

I don't believe that it is Tyra Bank's office. Just an office overhaul highlighted on her show/blog.

Very nice, but I didn't see anything indicating it was actually Tyra Banks' office.

How pretty! I would really enjoy going to work in the morning if that were my office! In fact, I think the redesign made the space look much larger too.

I prefer the unfussy "before" office rather than the overwrought "after". This makeover is precisely the sort of interior design we'll all be gasping at its "what on earth were they thinking?" ugliness in few years time. And yuck at the Eames knock-off chair.

Can anyone identify the blue paint color?

shouldn't it be the "tyra banks show" not the tyra bank's show"?

I do like the after pics, but the main problem I have with office makeovers is how clearly a day of filing could have helped in the before pics rather than a whole makeover. And there clearly isn't as much filing space (not to mention -- where *is* that mini-fridge?)

For pity's sake, please proofread and fact-check. The woman's name is "Banks."
I like this room. Fantasy glamour is a good antidote to tedious paperwork.
