Is Molly still doing her wonderful Ebay Scavenger column? I really miss looking at and coveting all her beautiful picks.

As my super-crush Madeline Kahn once said, “it’s twu, it’s twu!”

But I aint dead yet... I’m still going to be throwing my two cents around to anyone who will listen ;-)

When I signed on for the job a year ago, the idea that I would act as sort of an American (New Yorker) in Paris (Los Angeles) in terms of blogging the wonderful world of west coast design through the eyes of an east coaster… one who was trying to get home, but who first got to experience all of the beauty that Los Angeles (and beyond!) has to offer.

I love writing for Apartment Therapy. My style may differ slightly from Maxwell’s, but at the end of the day, we both want the same thing: to help people find harmony and beauty in their surroundings and in their home.

Also, let me say that it is dreamy readers like you that make me smile every day, Ms. Ebrown (don't think I forgot about that kidnapping proposition!)

I cannot post in The Shade Store section. I sent an email to Alec. It's still not working. Here is the post that was intended for that area:

Check JCPenney too. Really. Woven bamboo/reed:

Check the whole Patio Door section here for a couple other ideas:

Like the Solar Mesh panels. Messina fabric panels. And the Shoji screen panels (new since I was last there).

I can't get The Shade Store to load without updating my browser or viewing without prices. But I'm going to guess that the JCP items are far less costly.

Another person had purchased the regular untrimmed bamboo items, and added on her own trim, I think she just used a hot glue gun. She was inspired by Smith and Noble, but didn't want to pay Smith and Noble prices!

ebrown, I followed your link, are you the person who posted in my flickr photos in the red sofa picture? I wanted to say "Thanks" for that. Also that I enjoyed the pictures I managed to view in your flickr area. There are a lot of pictures. I didn't get through them all.

I showed my mum what you said. She had to ask what "snark" meant. I explained, best I could. She thought LOL meant "Little Old Lady" too. Thought I was mocking her everytime I sent her an email full of LOLs.

I don't have a lot to show off to my mum. Just the few pictures I've done for other people. And a couple nice comments. Yours is one. :)

Andree--
I'm sure you've given her MANY reasons to be proud, many more than you even know. Moms are like that.

You obviously have a good heart and a very giving nature... I know my mom would be proud of having raised someone like that!

I found this on craigslist and it seemed like someone would have to love it. Even if you aren't into the band, the backdrop is kind of awesome and maybe they'd negotiate on the price...

They also have some failry inexpensice shag rugs and lamp shades.
