How come you're moving? Good move? Bad move?

How come AT staff people rarely write back when emails are sent? Is it just me? Or everyone that you folks don't write back to? How many emails does AT get? What kinds of emails? Are they like whats on the boards? Good stuff? Bad stuff? Mix?

I'm thinking...uh...I browsed 32 pages of chairs on eBay and found far too many plush high heeled shoe chairs that are claimed to be "the perfect birthday present"...well, yeah, maybe if you're between 12 and 14 or work in a bordello. I'm thinking that we need to write to our representatives and have those things banned.

I'm thinking that there are a lot of people in L.A., and I don't know why they don't talk. Like here.

I don't like being the first person to post, but maybe someone will post, just to pick on me, and that will get the conversation started. ;)

Okay, I thought it was a good idea to have a topic for a thread. How about this:

If you could have ONE item from the store of your choice, what would it be? Why? And why don't you have it now?

Fun topic, Andree.

I would get the Otto desk from DWR (http://www.dwr.com/productdetail.cfm?id=7936) because I need a desk, but I don't want all my desk stuff out in the open. This one suits my taste and has all sorts of details (light, pencil cup, outlets) that I haven't seen in any other cabinet desks.

I don't have it now because of the price.

I would pick the Gigi Chair from DWR.

I sat in one of those a few years back and I loved it. It's a bit impractical for the price but I've been trying to justify it ever since I sat in it.

Good question, Andree.

The Kalup chair from Atmosphere (on Melrose Ave). http://atmospherefurniture.locaweb.com.br/products_index.php?idProductsCategory=7&idProducts=25

At appx $4,500 base price, it's way more than I would ever spend on a chair. But it's seriously sexy, esp in person.

I've saved a picture of this bed for the longest time. It's from Roche Bobois and costs over $2500 so that answers the question of why I don't already have it. I love the zen look of it and it certainly makes a dramatic impression in a room. I want, I want, I want!!

Andree!

A) For me, a great move (though a terrifying leap).

B) There are quite a few emails coming in each day (I can only imagine how inundated Maxwell must be) I always try to shoot off an email to let someone know if I’m posting their comment. If someone writes in with a suggestion I might not be able to respond, but I promise it is being dealt with - and not just by hitting “delete” :-)

C) Love the thread topic- can I play? Here’s a posting of my coveted beloved.

Oh, and Enrique- I say opt against the seed beading version in that fantasy of yours- it’s GORGEOUS, but after a client put two in a loft, we were so freaked out about how the beading couldn't be tacked down and would slide around…very precarious, but seriously one of the sexier chairs I’ve ever seen!

Have a geat weekend, y'all!

Alec... see the post above the LA transition. Vanessa and I want to go "drankin' wit choo" before your move! Of course, open invitation to everyone from the LA AT community. Your choice of venue. My plastic for rounds 1 and 2. [Also, in my fantasy world, that Atmosphere chair would have no problems!]

Turquoise: Those CL chairs are hot! Especially at "the nice price" of a hundred and fifty bones.

This is GREAT! I hope more people play! I've been to DWR way too many times online and viewed the catalogues, and I never noticed EITHER of the items, Arin's desk or Aaron's chair. I love that the desk has plug-ins ready (of course, the plug-ins have to be plugged in), and I think I could ditch my bed and just sleep in Gigi. I like Enrique's chair and the variety of materials that can be chosen to fully reflect each person's style. Anne, I've never seen a bed like that before and it's lovely. Alec, that chair in that color, I'm soooo attracted to blues, greens, aquas. I'm going to have to swipe David's Camelot fish print to go with your chair.

This is soooo great. More people must post. Instead of saying to browse an entire website, it's a link to ONE item, and that's manageable. And fun~!!!!

Sometimes I wish I was a gazillionaire (since magic wands don't work) and could grant everyone's wish. Better than a bunch of balloons and Ed McMahon at your door with an oversized check, it would be ME with your prized item, and enjoying the look on your face. That look, that look would be worth more than the cost of the item (only if I was a gazillionaire).

Another brilliant TV show idea, brought to you by the original DeCoRaTiNg LuNaTiC.

Can I dress up as a fairy too? With wings? I wanna have wings.

I visited the Outdoor Living expo at the PDC. Pretty low key event but beautiful stuff to pay lots to buy. Kudos to the Pacific Design Center for doing this and having a benefit for the Cultural Landscape Foundation (www.tclf.org) that advocates for historic landscapes. Nice people doing good work! Look for it next year.

Glen Dake! When did you start visiting the AT sites? Don't I still owe you a bottle of champagne? (Or is it the other way around?)
